Njabulo Sithebe

Njabulo Sithebe is part of the Nelson Mandela University and is a Special Advisor to the Minister of Finance in South Africa.

He previously worked as a Special Advisor to the Premier of Gauteng, a Special Advisor to a Minister of Tourism and a Senior Economist for Blue IQ.

He started his career in 1998 as an Economics Intern at the National Institute for Economic Policy (NIEP), he later joined the Economics Division of Standard Bank as an Economist in 2000. In 2005, he was the Senior Economist at KPMG and in 2008 he was the Head of the Economic Research Unit at Coega SEZ. Since then he has held advisory roles in the economic development, working with key figures in the policy arena.

He has a combination of Private and Public sector experience spanning over 20 years. Njabulo has also been part of economic development work & consulting for various South African State Owned Companies.

Njabulo wrote his masters dissertation on the relationship between the energy security and industrial development.

At the Nelson Mandela University he was the Project Director for an Agricultural Sector Climate Change Resilience Project funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
